Who self-cares? Health starts in the company.
After more than 15 years as an employee in the media industry, I felt the need to feel alive again after work instead of sitting exhausted at the dinner table opposite my partner. This physically and mentally empty shell after a hard day at the office, which neither the agency fruit basket nor the bulging snack box or the fitness allowance from the international companies could fill. There had to be more to it than just resisting Sunday lunchtime before Monday - the start of a strenuous working week - so that the weekend actually only consisted of Saturday.
I'm Karolin and I turned my passions into my profession when I founded Y.AVENA in 2020. As an expert in plant-based nutrition, yoga and meditation, I help my clients to bring more lightness and well-being back into their lives and integrate a healthy lifestyle into their everyday lives. We usually spend 20 or even 40 hours in these rooms in front of the laptop - at home or on site. Both options often do not offer enough leeway and flexibility for a balanced diet and a healthy lifestyle.
Our everyday life takes place mainly within the company.
The home office era has not only fundamentally changed the way we work, but also the team spirit. However, the hype surrounding "New Work" should not neglect the well-being of employees. That's why I designed the Y.AVENA Selfcare Days for companies , where employees can experience how beneficial health can be through joint (virtual) yoga and nutrition sessions and how they can reduce stress in their day-to-day work with just small changes.
It is now particularly important for companies to promote well-being, but also team spirit and awareness of mindfulness among employees. Y.AVENA therefore offers individual concepts - with a focus on nutrition, mindfulness and/or yoga - depending on whether business yoga is already part of the daily program or whether no elements of health promotion have yet been offered.
Corporate self-care as a new item on the agenda.
The (home) office should become a place where we not only spend most of the week, but where we enjoy spending time and associate positive things with: Spending time with colleagues, learning and experiencing new things, impulses and exercises for a healthy lifestyle that contributes to work-life balance and promotes employees' stress resilience.
